Career Academy Reviews

The Career Academy Review Process

The Career Academy Review process is organized around the National Standards of Practice (NSOP) and has been revised to coincide with the updated Standards.

NCAC membership gives the academy access to the “Members Only” section of the website where you will find a new document entitled Baseline Analysis (formerly the Self-Assessment).  It is suggested that you begin with a Baseline Analysis to be sure that you are prepared for a review.

The Academy Review is conducted by a team of two trained and certified NCAC national reviewers.  These reviewers examine the academy documentation that has been uploaded to the NCAC website.  On the designated review date the review team spends four hours at the academy and school, reviews the on-site notebooks, and interviews academy faculty, staff, administration, partners, and students.  Finally, a report is submitted to the principal and academy contact consisting of a thorough assessment of the academy with recommendations.
