Jay Steele, Ed.D.

Dr. Jay Steele is the President for the National Career Academy Coalition.  He has over 32 years experience in education at the secondary level with an administrative and curriculum background in the smaller learning community initiative and career education in Florida and Tennessee. Jay is the architect of the Academies of Nashville, one of the nation's premier high school transformation.  Jay is the former Chief Academic Officer for the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools. He is also a former music educator with a bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University, his master’s from the University of North Florida and his Ed.D. in Learning Organizations and Strategic Change from Lipscomb University. Jay is an international consultant and presenter on high school re-design, effective business engagement and the National Standards of Practice for academies.
