Dr. Judith S. Stein

Dr. Judith S. Stein is Executive Director for the National Institute for Educational Options (NIEO) at Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) Fischler School of Education  (FSE) since 1998. In her capacity as Executive Director of this K12 initiative, she manages resources for the development, expansion, and implementation of forms of school choice.  These include magnet schools (former Executive Director of Magnet Schools of America, Inc. (MSA) and operated the business office at FSEHS). She also served as Operations Executive of the National Career Academy Coalition, Inc. (NCAC) from 2004-2007 and operated the business office at FSE. Additionally, Judith works with charter schools; NIEO has been the first home of the Florida Consortium of Charter schools and she ran the Florida Charter Schools Alliance. In 2002, she received the sub grant for the Voluntary School Choice Program of the USDOE and served as Principal Investigator for Nova and in 2007, she received a second sub grant for 1.5 million for each of five years to expand the Parent Resource Center across the state of Florida.

In 2009, she received the Hall of Fame Award from the Florida Career and Technical Education Association for her thirty years of work, statewide, for Career Education which includes serving as the first director of Career Education in the Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
