STUDENT PROJECT SHOWCASE
The National Career Academy Coalition Annual Conference hosts a student project showcase open to all academy students across the nation. The NCAC Project Showcase allows academy students to showcase their projects, talents, and creativity.
This is an annual event at the NCAC national conference. Project based learning is an important part of the teaching and learning process in a career academy and NCAC seeks to elevate this method. In this process, students engage in authentic problem solving while learning necessary content standards and the competencies that will lead to successful lifelong learning: Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration and Creativity.
The NCAC Project Showcase will be held on Monday, November 5, 2018 at the National Career Academy Coalition’s conference in Houston, TX. Projects will be critiqued by a panel of judges on Tuesday, November 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and will be open to conference attendees for viewing from for the duration of the conference (Monday, November 5 from 12:00 – 5:45, through Wednesday, November 7, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.). Students may set up beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Monday and must be ready to show by noon. Students must register on the NCAC website. During this event, students will showcase their collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking skills by articulating their learning and displaying authentic products created throughout the year in preparation for college, career and life.
All projects will be critiqued by a panel of judges with two components scored: a display containing evidence of completion and on-site interviews.
Student Projects will be on display for the entire conference.
