Doug Wagner

Doug Wagner’s almost 30 year educational career encompasses teaching career and technical education at the middle, high, and postsecondary levels.  He has served in administrative positions at the Florida Department of Education and for the last 20 years has been working at the School District of Manatee County (Florida) where he has held the positions of Director of Adult, Career and Technical (ACT) Education and Director of Manatee Technical College (MTC), Executive Director and currently he holds the position of Deputy Superintendent.   He is presently overseeing over 500 full and part-time ACT and MTC teachers, staff, and administrators serving thousands of students each day.  Mr. Wagner was appointed in 2014 by Governor Scott and is serving as one of 7 statewide Commissioners for the Commission for Independent Education, which has statutory responsibilities in matters relating to nonpublic, postsecondary, educational institutions, colleges and universities. In addition Mr. Wagner serves on numerous local, state and national boards and committees that advances career and technical education and workforce development.
